Due to work commitments, Sue Haynes will be stepping down as EMAS Records Officer at the AGM in April.  Rowena Bowden of Silver Spoon Bowmen has kindly said that she will stand for the position in April and has kindly taken over the position in a caretaking role with immediate effect until April. UK Record broken at EMAS 2016 JUNIOR INTER-COUNTIES TOURNAMENT

 

50 junior archers from across the East Midlands area met at Sherwood Archers field in Southwell Nottinghamshire on 24th July to compete for team honours at the EMAS Junior Inter-counties Tournament. A great day of shooting was had in lovely weather and this culminated in Hollie Smith, competing for Derbyshire, in breaking the UK record for the compound bow shooting the Bristol 3 round. Hollie scored a magnificent 1294 and only dropped one shot outside the gold zone. Well done Hollie. There were also lots of claims for Rose awards and six gold ends so a fantastic performance by all archers. Continue reading

As you know, since the vote to change the governance of the Society we have moved to a strategic board with external directors and the staff taking more day to day responsibility for the running of the Society.  Since that vote, over the last two and a half years, the Board with the help of the Senior Management team and the Operations Committee chairs, have been re-structuring the operating model of the Society.  Continue reading
