The John Hartfield Memorial Shoot, incorporating EMAS and NCAS field championships was held over the weekend of the 18th and 19th June.
Over 60 archers from all over Britain and Ireland attended the shoot hosted by Long Buckby Archery Club, at their brand new field course in Daventry. The shoot was a great success with many excellent comments made about the new course, which has taken LBAC some 6 months to build and was only completed a few days before the shoot. Despite challenging weather conditions, especially on the Saturday, everybody had a great time with many archers promising return next year.
Hot food and drinks were served throughout the weekend by Long Buckby Scouts and the President of GNAS even attended on the Sunday and was extremely impressed by the whole event and the new course.
All the hard work put in by Long Buckby Archery club payed off with four of their members; James Haycock (Compound), Mark Holford (Barebow), Glenn Taylor (Recurve) and Alex Ross (Jnr Recurve), all becoming both County and EMAS champions. RESULTS
Now that the course is complete, the club hope to run introduction to field archery sessions throughtou the winter and are looking at the possibility of entering the National Field Winter League
