Four archers from the East Midlands have been selected to shoot for the England Junior Team at the upcoming Home Nations tournament. Eight archers have been selected, three recurve and one compound of each gender, so half the team is from the region. Recurve archers Chris Brown of Sleaford Maltsters, Lizzie Warner of Kirby Muxloe and Eva Henderson-Hirst of Derwent Bowmen are joined in the team by compounder Hollie Smith of Pastures Archers in a young England team. Hollie was in the side last year, although the match didn’t take place because of the bad weather; but for the other three, it is their first selection for the national team.
The youngsters had to submit scores from at least three record status metric tournaments in order to be considered by the selectors. All four worked hard during the early part of the season and produced some excellent scores to ensure selection.
